Nutritious Meal Planning

Even you can eat a balanced diet!

Golden Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls

This book was developed especially for families who enjoy cooking at home- to encourage you with a new vision on how you can serve your family and view cooking as a joy and ministry rather than a burden. Easy-to-follow, these family-friendly, wholesome recipes feature simple steps and clear instructions so even younger children can cook successfully.

Though not written with a specific diet plan in mind, or always incorporating healthy flours and sugars, the recipes are accurately proportioned and give you a good foundation to modify or substitute from.

In my opinion, the main reason people don't eat nutritiously is because they fail to plan ahead. I would encourage developing a basic food inventory, determining amounts of different food items to keep stocked for your family. Purchase fresh meats and freeze in family/recipe-sized meal portions. Set aside a time to make casseroles for the freezer for those days when you don't feel like cooking! Cook and shred chicken for use in recipes and then freeze in shallow depth in ziploc bags. Keep in mind that muffin batter, biscuits and cookie dough can all be frozen raw to have on hand. Plan a week's worth of menus, check on all ingredients needed in recipes, and keep a grocery list going constantly to eliminate excess trips to the store. Evaluate recipes for what needs to be set out or prepared in advance. Determine preparations which can be done ahead or by different members of the family. Planning ahead is the key to providing nutritious meals for your family.

My prayer is that this book would be a blessing to your family and free you to devote time to the more important things and people in your life.
